The state-run television channel, which operates under the Government Public Relations Department (PRD), held a religious ceremony yesterday to mark the 28th anniversary since it was set |up.
PRD director-general Apinant Chantharangsi said 11 programmes would undergo changes.
They include “To Be Number One”; “Mong Lok Kwang with NBT” (Look at the Wide World with NBT); “Kan Pen Kao” (Crowing into News); and “Hello Lady, Thailand’s Turning Point”; “Walk Forward with Civil State”; “Thanon Dontri” (Musical Road); and “Paen Din Thai Sai Sa-ard” (Thailand is Clean, Smart Farmer and NBT News).

Apinant said the prime minister had continuously given recommendations to the station to make programmes more interesting to cater to consumer demands.
“The station will report news wherever it breaks in a timely and swift manner because we have personnel across the country,’’ he said.
The station receives an annual budget of Bt250 million.
Chaiya Yimwilai, who chairs the committee to revamp the station’s programming, said |the NBT would focus on news |coverage, documentaries, |history, culture and tourism.
Government Spokesman Maj-General Sansern Kaewkamnerd, who hosts the programme “Crowing into News”, said the revamp was |in response to the prime minister’s desire for the station to help to steer the country’s development.
“He wants to see good programmes that inspire people in society and make the country stand gracefully in world society,’’ Sansern said.
