"Thai Tims" head to Glasgow

MONDAY, APRIL 23, 2012

Scottish Premier League champions Celtic wore their jerseys with their names in Thai when they beat Motherwell FC 30 last night at the Fir Park Stadium.

The shirts will be auctioned from Tuesday with funds going towards children of Thai Tims from Thailand’s Chantaburi province to Celtic Park Stadium in Glasgow in May. Thai Tims is part of a foundation called The Good Child Foundation.
A group of 40 children from Thai Tims will join other Celtic fans to celebrate the club’s championship celebration at the Royal Concert Hall on May 10. They will also sign autographs at the ceremony.
Celtic FC online said, “Affectionately known as 'The Thai Tims', the children have been taken to the hearts of the Celtic family after performing a number of songs about the Club.”
During their trip to Glasgow, the group will perform at a match at Celtic Park.
Celtic Football Club will be making a contribution to enable the children to visit and the Club's supporters groups are also delighted to be involved in active fundraising to ensure that the trip is an unforgettable success.
“Through the visit, the Good Child Foundation, the Club and our supporters will aim to raise funds  via Celtic Charity Fund  to help children with Down’s Syndrome in Thailand, and also support the work of Down's Syndrome Scotland, with whom we enjoy an existing relationship, the website said.
