Royal plaques delivered to throne hall
The first procession for His Majesty King Maha Vajiralongkorn's coronation has begun, with the first in a series of processions setting out from the Temple of the Emerald Buddha at 10am on Friday.
A palanquin holding the Golden Royal Plaques that bear the King’s full name and horoscope, and the Royal Seal of State, all ritually engraved in the ubosot of the temple at the Grand Palace on April 23, was moved to the Baisal Daksin Throne Hall, where the coronation ceremony will be held on Saturday.
One hundred and thirteen representatives of five government agencies participated in the procession, accompanied by the sounds of golden and silver drums, horns and conch shells.
Once at the Throne Hall, a distance of 220 metres, the Lord Chamberlain ACM Satitpong Sukvimol lifted the tray holding the plaques and Royal Seal out of the palanquin and placed it on a pedestal inside.
