Traffic police had to warn motorists to avoid the Ratchapruek Road on the opening day of Central West Ville.
The opening day drew about 10,000 shoppers, Central Pattana said.
Nattakit Tangpoonsinthana, chief marketing officer of Central Patana, said the new mall, which has been developed with an investment of 6.2 billion baht, would draw about 30,000 to 50,000 shoppers on the Thonburi side or west of Bangkok.
According to Nattakit, the mall was opened with an eco-friendly theme, called the “Soul of Nature”. A lot of green plants, especially ferns, have been used to decorate all the floors.
The opening also highlighted the immersive art installation of a manmade waterfall.
A giant Christmas tree made with natural products from the Mae Fah Luang Foundation in Chiang Rai stand tall.
Stores in the mall include Central Department Store, Power Buy, Tops Food Hall, B2s, Supersports and Officemate.
There are also stores of leading brands, including Uniqlo, Muji, Adidas, Pandora and LUSH.
Central West Ville also provides 1,000 square metres for pet owners to bring their pets and enjoy the so-called Best Pet-Summer Destination zone.
