To make the Fashion Island branch branch distinctive, Donki (Thailand) Co Ltd added a new section called Yatai Mura, or Japanese food stall village, said Kota Tamaki, president of Donki (Thailand).
The new cafeteria section provides tasty original Japanese foods for shoppers at affordable prices, Tamaki added.
Customers can eat the food at the store or take them home. Some 40 seats are available for shoppers to sit and enjoy the Japanese foods in situ, he added.
Tamaki said the new branch aims to serve shoppers in eastern Bangkok. It was launched in cooperation with Siam Retail Development Co Ltd.
Prasert Sriuranpong, managing director of Siam Retail Development and CEO of Fashion Island, said the partnership with Don Don Donki would would be a draw for shoppers.
Fashion Island is a great fit for the Japanese specialty store because it is large and has a walkway connected to The Promenade shopping mall, he said. Moreover, it is convenient to reach the mall using the Pink Line railway.
Don Don Donki is located on the third floor of Fashion Island and has 1,350 square metres.
