BT140-BN RICE SALES

The Foreign Trade Department of the Commerce Ministry has sold 16.91 million tonnes of rice for Bt140 billion, out of a total stock of 17.76 million tonnes left over under the rice pledging scheme of the previous government .

Despite the stock sales, the government is still shouldering loss of more than Bt500 billion from the rice pledging scheme , the source said.
