8 foreign firms register for business last month

Eight foreign companies registered to do business in Thailand last month, with a total investment value of Bt200 million and employing 102 workers, said Kulanee Issadisai, director general of business development at Department of Commerce Ministry. 

 The companies are from Singapore, Japan and Denmark. The main investment focus is on service businesses such as accounting, information technology and retail. 
 In 2017, new registrations from foreign firms totalled 270, with a combined investment value of Bt7.3 billion, Kulanee said. This tally dropped from the 352 firms in 2016 with an investment value of Bt7.44 billion, she said.
