Nattaporn Jatusripitak, an adviser in the Prime Minister’s Office, said after the Cabinet meeting yesterday that the cabinet suggested that the budget for the event be reduced.
Meanwhile, a source from the ministry said that the budget had factored in the higher labour costs in Dubai – put at 25 per cent more than in Thailand – and it had also included spending from other government agencies participating in the event.
“However, the ministry will revise the budget following the cabinet notes,” the source said.
The funds for the event would be spent from 2018 to 2020.
