Thailand doing it in STYLE at major new trade show

The International Trade Promotion Department on Tuesday launched “STYLE”, the regional’s largest and most comprehensive lifestyle trade show, with more than 1,000 entrepreneurs from Thailand and all over the world gathering next month at a single event to meet potential buyers.

The ultimate goal of the event, which takes place from October 17-21 at Bitec Bang Na, is to make Thailand the centre for the manufacturing, marketing and trading of lifestyle products in Asean and Asia.
Following the phenomenal success of other major lifestyle trade shows – the “Bangkok International Fashion Fair and Bangkok International Leather Fair: BIFF&BI”, the Bangkok International Gift Fair and Bangkok International Houseware Fair: BIG+BIH” and the “Thailand International Furniture Fair: TIFF” – the department is combining the three under the “Life + Style” concept and “Creative Thailand” policy as STYLE, a world-class lifestyle trade show that is also the largest in the region.
The event is supported by 24 related associations, with more than 1,000 local and international exhibitors taking up 2,000 booths across a 40,000-square-metre expo ground at Bitec, said Somdet Susomboon, deputy director-general of the agency.
STYLE, which will comprise both local and international vendors, will be promoted through major cities in Thailand and 50 other countries around the world in which the department has representative offices.
A roadshow to Cambodia and South Korea will also give potential buyers and fair-goers information about the event, he said.
So far, vendors committed to taking part in STYLE include entrepreneurs from China, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Malaysia and the CLMV countries (Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar and Vietnam).
Visitor numbers, especially from the US, Japan and Australia, are expected to reach 60,000, Somdet added.
