New Zealand dairy giant Fonterra is to showcase its SureProtein range of products in Bangkok next month in response to Thai consumers’ increasing demand for high-protein food and drinks.

NZMP – Fonterra’s global brand for dairy ingredients – will promote its products at Food Ingredients Asia (FIA), which is being held at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre(BITEC) from September 13-15.
Global market researcher Mintel says Thailand is one of Southeast Asia’s leading countries for launching high-protein products, having grown 26 per cent on average from 2012 to 2016.
While at the same time a Canadian Survey on Consumer Attitude and Behaviours showed that more than half the Thai population are looking to include high-protein food products in their regular diets.
Hamish Gowans, an NZMP regional manager, says Thai consumers are increasingly seeking specific nutritional benefits to support their growing interest in health and active living, while demanding greater convenience to suit their busy urban lifestyles.
