In a research note, the securities firm pinned hopes on three events.
The first is SET in the City, the annual fair where financial products and services are offered. This year's event will run from today until November 22. Statistically, Thai shares rose 1.1-2 per cent on average in the first 1-2 weeks after the event ended.
The second is Thailand Focus, the annual conference on investment outlook which will take place during December 2-4. Statiscally, the event pushed up the index by 3.2 per cent on average in the first two weeks after the event ended.
The third is new investment inflows into LTF and RMF. In the past ten years, the index rose 1.8 per cent on average in December.
The SET index gained 8.15 points or 0.59 per cent higher on Thursday, to end the day at 1,384.97 points.
Turnover was thin at Bt34 billion. Foreign investors remained net-sellers of Thai shares today, with net-sell position of Bt374.5 million. Throughout this month, their net-sells reached Bt10.47 billion.
