His body reportedly fell into a residential property, adjacent to a hotel on Sukhumvit Soi 20 in Bangkok’s Khlong Toei district.
The body of Trin Reungkitratanakul, 36, was found near the kitchen entrance of the two-storeyed house.
Both the father and the elder sister of the deceased were unable to speculate on the reasons that could have prompted him to take his life.
Police suspect that he had opened the side window facing the corridor of the hotel, walked to the top floor of the hotel, and jumped, falling into the nearby house. The owner of the house is a renowned physician affiliated with a prominent hospital.
The medic said that a similar incident had occurred about 10 years ago, involving a hotel staff member falling from the rooftop.
He said he had spoken with the hotel executives about taking measures to prevent a recurrence of people or objects from falling into his house. He lamented that no corrective action had been taken so far, leading to a repeat of the unfortunate incident.
The homeowner stated, “I would like the hotel management or relevant authorities to come forward to discuss guidelines and preventive measures to avoid such incidents in future."
