Ekkarat Sriarayanpong, chief of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) governor's office, announced that SRT invites travellers to be part of a special journey with the "Royal Blossom" train, to experience the charm of Hua Hin in a classic style.
The Bangkok-Hua Hin-Bangkok route offers a one-day trip in September on every Saturday and Sunday, with a total of eight trips on September 7, 8, 14, 15, 21, 22, 28 and 29.
Passengers can choose from two types of seating: group or private. Tickets will be available nationwide starting on Tuesday, September 3, from 8.30am onwards, with a limit of 176 seats per trip.
The Royal Blossom travel programme offers a classic Hua Hin experience on train No 913/914.
The train departs from Bangkok (Hualamphong Station) at 6.45am and arrives in Hua Hin at 10.30am.
Passengers will experience the charm of the old Hua Hin Station, inspired by the Thai romantic novel "Prissana", which has captured hearts through the ages.
Highlights include photo opportunities, architectural and historical landmarks such as Hua Hin Station, the King Rama V Pavilion, and the Railway Library.
After the station visit, passengers will enjoy lunch at Krua Ban Kru restaurant, savouring the chic seaside ambiance of Hua Hin.
They can shop for traditional Thai printed fabrics at Kommapat Fabric Shop, visit the Khao Tao Reservoir, the first irrigation project under royal initiative, and the "Pavilion in the Middle of the Water", modelled after the Pavilion of Kuhakaruhat in Phraya Nakhon Cave.
The trip also includes paying respects to the statue of King Rama V at the Pavilion of Phra Piyasamakkee Rangsan and shopping for 5-star OTOP products at the Ban Khao Tao Handicraft Center.
The day concludes with shopping at Cicada Market and Tamarin Market, which feature a variety of handmade arts and delicious food.
The return train departs from Hua Hin at 5.53pm and arrives back at Bangkok (Hualamphong Station) at 9.55pm. Passengers can get on and off at various stations, including Bangsue Junction, Bang Bamru, Taling Chan Junction, and Salaya.
