Detained protest leaders Parit "Penguin" Chiwarak and Arnon Nampa, have been hospitalised, Justice Minister Somsak Thepsuthin said on Saturday.

He said Parit was healthy and being treated at the Corrections Department Hospital. He added that the Criminal Court would summon him on Tuesday.

"Arnon, who is infected with Covid-19, was being treated at Thammasat University Hospital as he has low blood oxygen level," he said.

He said the operation to set up a field hospital at Corrections Department Hospital, which can accommodate 10,000 patients, was 80 per cent completed.

He added that 331 patients were being treated at the field hospital.

"To contain the spread of Covid-19, all inmates in prisons had been instructed to wear face mask and undergo 21vdays quarantine," he added.
