Prime Minister Srettha Thavisin has expressed his concern for Thai citizens in Israel and Iran amid looming hostilities, government spokesperson Chai Wacharoke said on Saturday.

He said that directives and public announcements had been made to protect the interests of Thai citizens.

Amid increasing tensions between Israel and Iran, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has directed consulates in the region to closely monitor the situation, with the consulate-general in Tel Aviv issuing advisories and emergency guidelines to Thai citizens.

Chai urged Thai citizens in the area to remain alert and closely follow announcements by Thai consulates in the region. Thai nationals should avoid travelling to certain areas, and in cases of emergencies Thais can seek assistance from their respective embassies or consulates in various countries, he said.
