Temperatures continue to climb but storms a possibility
Thailand will experience a hot to very hot day on Tuesday with isolated thundershowers and gusty winds in some areas, the Thai Meteorological Department said.
Temperatures in the northern region can be expected to hit 44 °C during the day, it warned, adding that people should take care of their health during extreme weather.
These conditions are brought by the low-pressure cell covering upper Thailand while the southwesterly and southerly winds prevail over the upper country, the department said.
In the South, a northwesterly wind prevails over the Andaman Sea and the South while easterly winds blow over the lower Gulf, bringing isolated thundershowers to the lower South.
From Wednesday to Thursday, the westerly trough from Myanmar will move through the upper North and upper Laos while the confluence of southwesterly and southerly winds prevail over the upper country. These conditions will result in summer storms, thunderstorms, gusty winds, hail and lightning strikes in the upper part of the country, the department said.

Bangkok metropolitan area
Hot to very hot day with isolated thundershowers in 10% of the area. Lows of 28-30 °C and highs of 37-41 °C.
North
Hot to very hot day with isolated thundershowers and gusty wind mostly in Mae Hong Son, Chiang Mai, Tak, Kamphaeng Phet and Phetchabun. Lows of 22-30 °C and highs of 39-44 °C.
Northeast
Hot to very hot day with isolated thundershowers and gusty wind mostly in Loei, Chaiyaphum and Nakhon Ratchasima. Lows of 27-30 °C and highs of 41-42 °C.
Central
Hot to very hot day with isolated thundershowers and gusty wind mostly in Kanchanaburi, Ratchaburi, Uthai Thani and Lopburi. Lows of 27-30 °C and highs of 39-42 °C.
East
Hot day with isolated thundershowers and gusty wind mostly in Nakhon Nayok, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi and Trat. Lows of 27-30 °C and highs of 36-41°C. Waves below a metre high, rising to over a metre in thundershowers.
South (East Coast)
Hot day with isolated thundershowers mostly in Chumphon, Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Songkhla, Yala and Narathiwat. Lows of 24-30 °C and highs of 35-40 °C. Waves below a metre high, rising to over a metre high in thundershowers.
South (West Coast)
Hot day with isolated thundershowers mostly in Phang Nga, Phuket, Krabi, Trang and Satun. Lows of 25-29 °C and highs of 35-38 °C. Waves below a metre high, rising to over a metre high in thundershowers and offshore.
